A graphite impeller within the vacuum pump may fail, leading to vehicle performance issues. Water ingress can sometimes affect these pumps, but often the impeller on the motor spindle may break or degrade over time. A damaged impeller can result in insufficient pressure or vacuum, impairing the operation of the PSE pump. This may also cause the motor to jam, potentially blowing the 20A fuse and causing the pump to shut down.
