For a perfect seal, it is necessary that the jet regulator comes into contact with the tap thread. If the thread is short, simply insert the additional gasket. Thanks to the stainless steel filter gasket, it retains solid impurities sometimes present in the water and preserves the aerator head from clogging. To keep the jet regulator always in perfect working order, it is recommended to periodically clean the filter gasket and, if there are limescale deposits, simply unscrew the aerator head and soak it in vinegar or an anti-limescale product for a few hours and brush away the residue: the head will come back as new.
