As long as there are Apple devices within 10-50 meters, the locator can be positioned. Is it real-time? When Apple devices are nearby, it provides near real-time positioning. The more Apple devices in the vicinity, the more accurate the location becomes. If no Apple devices are present, positioning will not occur until one comes within range, with location updates typically occurring every 5 to 15 minutes. How does it work? The device emits a secure Bluetooth signal every two seconds. Nearby Apple devices (such as iPhones, iPads, or Mac computers) detect this signal and upload the information to Apples iCloud service, which processes the location data. Only the owner of the locator can access the location information. The greater the number of nearby Apple devices, the faster and more accurate the location updates will be. Where is it best used? It is most effective in urban or high-traffic areas where many people use Apple devices. Remote locations or areas with few Apple users may not be suitable.
