The sampling period can be adjusted to make the response quicker or slower, depending on shift speed and signal conditions. TOUCH SENSOR All settings can be done via the touch sensor so theres no opening on the housing, it is completely sealed and encapsulated in epoxy. The touch sensitive area is on the TOP of the unit. However, after programming, the unit can be mounted even with the top side stuck to the dashboard (via the sticky pads supplied) and will function properly. It can also be used with the optional GFYSHIP Mount. AUTO BRIGHTNESS CONTROL The brightness of the display is adjusted automatically according to the ambient light intensity. The sensitivity of the sensor can be fine-tuned in the menu. HIGH SPEED WARNING FUNCTION If you wish, you may set the unit to warn you when the set road speed and/or the set engine speed is exceeded. Gain access to the Gear Position Sensor (GPS) connector. Normally this involves the following: - Remove the seat - Lift up or remove the fuel tank Look for a matching connector on the bike to your model. You may find more than one of this connector under the fuel tank. You need the one that (normally) has Pink, Blue and Black/White wires. 2. Disconnect the GPS coupler. Make sure the gearbox is in Neutral and turn the ignition switch ON. Wait a few seconds. The Neutral indicator should NOT be lit with disconnected GPS coupler. After confirming this, turn the ignition OFF and proceed to the next step. 3. Connect the GFYSHIP plugs to the GPS coupler. 4. Connect the GFYSHIP Red wire to an ignition switched +12V power lead by using the Red wire tap connector supplied. Usage: Place the unstripped bike wire (switched +12V) inside the run channel. Close the side cover until latched. Cut off the excess length, then insert the unstripped tap wire (GIpro Red) completely and check its position. Insert the blade (u-contact) and press down by finger pressure. Then, fully depress the u-contact with pliers. Close the hinged top cover until latched. The power must be ON even when the engine run switch is switched off. We recommend tapping the Orange/Green (orange with thin green stripe) wire at the 2-pole rear brake light switch connector or at the diagnostic connector. Set Up: Note: If the unit does not indicate the gears correctly with the pre-set gear position values, youll need to start the Learning procedure.The TOP side of the housing is the touch sensitive area so it must be kept free, away from all objects. If the unit is in a mount, remove it first. - Have the gearbox in Neutral. - Have the ignition OFF (the display must be blank). - Turn the ignition ON and the engine stop switch to RUN position (the display should count up and then show 0). Wait at least 2 seconds. - With your index finger (without gloves) tap the top side of the unit and hold your finger until the first menu sign shows up. Remove your finger now. Note: If the gearbox is switched to a gear then accessing the menu will be disabled even if you shift back to neutral. Cycle the ignition key to start overIf the unit does not indicate the gears correctly, start the Auto-Learning procedure.
