This product replaces the top rubber section above the chrome trim that wraps around the rear window area above the boot and quarter panels, a common area prone to aging and sun damage. The rubber seal is self-adhesive with 3M tape and measures approximately 2 meters in total length. Minor trimming may be required to fit the length and accommodate the third brake light. Installation Instructions: Step 1: Clean the surface thoroughly to ensure maximum adhesion. Step 2: Position the new rubber strip over the flat edge where the old rubber was removed, allowing it to overlap slightly onto the roof material. Use additional adhesive to secure the bond. Note that adhesive sets quickly, so ensure correct placement before application. The new rubber has a slightly increased profile where it overlaps the chrome, which improves the weather seal and helps protect the ing from UV exposure. This repair has been tested on an R52 model since December 2020 and has performed well through various weather conditions in the UK. To maintain the seal, avoid high-pressure washing.
