How To Replace a Band Saw Tire? 1. Unplug the band saw, loosen the saw blade tension, and remove the blade. Then remove the band saw wheel. 2. Once removed, completely remove or cut the tire and any residue left behind. 3. Place part of the tire onto the wheel rim, then insert a short rod or pipe between the tire and wheel. Move the pipe around the rim to equalize the tire's elasticity. 4. Squeeze a small amount of glue onto a brush and apply it to the tire and wheel surface. Repeat all the way around the rim.
