It is the most advanced gear position indicator on the market today. This product will fit all fuel injected (fi) suzuki motorcycles that have onboard diagnostic system connector. This connector is referred to as ;coupler select switch mode; in the suzuki manuals. Unlike other gear indicators available for your bike, this product plugs into the diagnostic connector. Makes the installation very simple. The unit reads data directly from the ECM, offering faster and more reliable readings than competitive products. The unit is fully automatic, there are no buttons and no ;programming wire;, the display will indicate all gears correctly when the ignition is on, the side stand is up and the engine stop switch is in the run position. Installation: Find the white 6-pole male diagnostic connector, usually near the ecm box. You may have a black cap, or a ;dummy; female plug attached to it. gsf650 bandit / gsf1250; under the right side frame cover abs model dl650; behind the right side fuel tank cover vl1500 / boulevard c90 / intruder c1500; behind the head cover of the left frame other models; under the seat (pilot or pillion) Remove the black cover or female plug from the dummy, and plug in the jxkj plug. route the cable to the mounting location. remove the green plastic from the back of the unit and mount the display. secure the cable with the supplied cable ties. The unit is fully functional after installation. No need for configuration. Problems solution. Disconnect the jxkj connector and check that the pins are broken, bent, or pushed out of position. And make sure all connections are good and the connector is fully seated. Make sure the ignition is on, the side mount is up, and the engine stop switch is in working position when you test the gear position indicator. If some gears are not indicated correctly, the position of the Switch gear is probably defective, modified, or a tre box is installed. If the gears indicated are correct except under hard acceleration or braking, there is interference with the bike and wiring and the ecm receives incorrect values from the sensor gear position. This jxkj model indicates the position of the gear as known by the Ecm. do not. Note: Due to the light and screen setting difference, the item's color may be slightly different from the pictures.
